The Youth Work Foundation has provided recognition and citizenship education to high school students since 1946.

Each year, the Youth Work Foundation partners with approximately 50 local, youth-serving organizations from across the Greater Philadelphia region to recognize 250 to 300 high school students every year as “good citizens". These young adults are recognized in the spring of their junior year with a full day of enrichment programming. The Good Citizen Day celebration is capped with an evening awards ceremony. After completing this program, Good Citizen awardees are welcomed into the greater community of the Youth Work Foundation and the Union League, with further educational programming and enrichment opportunities available to them during and after high school.
