Founded in 1955, The Scholarship Foundation was originally conceived as an outgrowth of the Youth Work Foundation’s programming. Since then, the Scholarship Foundation has grown tremendously, awarding nearly 1,000 students with Union League Scholarships for post-high school education. Awards total nearly $4 million.
These young scholars distinguish themselves by their character, leadership and service to their community. The rigorous submission process includes a comprehensive application and an interview with the Scholarship Foundation’s Board of Trustees.. Once selected, these students become part of the Union League community. Scholars are encouraged to build this community by attending programs with fellow scholars and Union League members. Scholars can further their education in ways beyond what is offered by the regular collegiate curriculum through mentorships and educational programming.
