In 1996, the Abraham Lincoln Foundation of the Union League (ALF) was established to care for these wonderful collections and make them available to the public. Since then, the ALF has not only grown its own collections, but also has become the steward of the library, archival and manuscript collections of The Civil War Museum of Philadelphia, The Military Order of the Loyal Legion of the United States and The Dames of the Loyal Legion of the United States. tanner_book_box

In 2011, the ALF opened the Sir John Templeton Heritage Center with exhibit space to display the collections. The final piece of construction on the Heritage Center was finished in 2013, with the completion of a state-of-the-art collections storage space. With this in place, the ALF can now share its collections through research and exhibition. Catalogs for the ALF’s collection are available online, through two databases: the EOS International Library System and PastPerfect Online. The EOS catalog contains the library collection, which includes books, pamphlets, periodicals and other published material. The PastPerfect Online system contains the archival, manuscript and art collections. Both catalogs are updated regularly, so make sure to check back for new additions to the catalogs.
